How to use the PRIDE model of coaching to maximise your potential in self development

Introduction
The year 2010 is gradually coming to an end. As individuals we have dreams, goals and desire which we were able to actualise and there are more things we need to realise in terms of our growth and personal development. Some people have the ability to dream and turn their dream into reality of on form or another. However, some people will need coaches or mentors to help them to realise their dream.
In this article I’m going to describe the P.R.I.D.E model of coaching and how you could use it to facilitate you’re your journey in self development.
First I will describe what the acronym means and how to apply it to as a model for coaching. In her book “Learn to .Coach” Nicola Stevens describes coaching as a relationship that is designed in such a way as to enhance the process of lifelong learning, effectiveness and fulfilment.
The PRIDE Model of coaching
The table below show the different attributes or elements of the PRIDE model of coaching.

It is made of five stages namely, purpose, reality, ideas, decide and execute leading to realisation of a desired goal. Th second section will describe the different questions and strategies for the implementation of the PRIDE framework.

Come up with at least three different ideas for how you could deal with if you were resolving it.

Which one (or combination) will meet your higher purpose the best?
What wil serve you best and what wil be the outcome?

Execute your plan. Imagine the first step you are going to take. What specifically will you do to get the ball rolling?
Can you imagine having the commitment to do this, the enthusiasm and the motivation to see to through? If not, what does it need? You should not allow fear, obstacles and consideration to sap your execution zeal and energy. Set your heart to accomplish your goal.

Conclusion: Following these PRIDE stategy of coaching model will help you to turn your dreams to reality this coming year. However, as you will realise any endeavour towards self-development is a learning journey which changes you along the way due to the new skill, experience, knowledge and personal mastery you achieve due to the new person you have become. All the best as you set mechanisms in motions to realise your dreams, desire, aspirations and goals this coming year in your contribution to your self-development and equipment of the skill to changing your world.
